Ferry Information
There is a new ferry service
between Swansea, Wales and Cork city, operating
from 1st of March to 30th
of November.
This service offers overnight sailings 6 nights
a week departing at 21:00 and arriving at 7:00
the next morning, with additional sailings
during peak periods.
The service is being operated by Fastnet Line
using the ‘M.V Julia’ cruise-ferry.
The ‘MV Julia’ has capacity for up to 1,860
passengers, 440 cars and has more than 300
cabins.
Facilities include a selection of restaurants,
bars, shops, cinema and childrens’ area.

Directions by road from Cork to
Allihies
Note: If flying in to Dublin
airport and proceeding from there by car, drive
to Cork city. Directions available from

From Cork, take the N71 from Cork
to Bandon.
As you drive in to Bandon, take a right at the T
junction and follow the signs for Dumanway,
Drimoleague and Bantry, driving along the R586.
From Bantry, take the N71 to Glengarriff. At the
end of Glengarriff Village, turn left on to the
R572 to Castletownbere.
Drive straight through Castletownbere.
About 6 miles (9 km) outside Castletownbere, you
will come to a v junction with signposts to the
left for Allihies and to the right for Allihies.
Take the left option.
Continue for 6 miles (9 km) until you reach
Allihies Village.
